The young baritone Jonas Müller, together with guitarists Davide Giovanni Tomasi and Zsombor Sidoo, will perform Schubert's "Winterreise" and other songs.

On September 19, 2025, the label Oehms Classics wrote the following about the newly released album: 'With Franz Schubert's "Winterreise," the young baritone Jonas Müller presents not only his debut album, but also one of the most important song cycles in music history in a new sonic dimension: Together with the guitar duo Tomasi-Musso, he interprets Schubert's masterpiece in an arrangement for two guitars – an instrumentation that opens up intimacy, transparency, and new expressive possibilities. For the three musicians, "Winterreise" is a work that leads the listener directly to their innermost selves. The guitar version, played by the Italian guitarists Davide Giovanni Tomasi and Marco Musso, enhances the intimacy of the cycle. The plucked strings create a chamber music-like closeness and lend a new richness to both the text and Schubert's music.'

Brahms - Bridge - Britten - Mahler

September 8, 2025

Lieder recital by Wiebke Lehmkuhl and Julius Drake

The classic song instrumentation – voice and piano – can be wonderfully expanded to include a "singing" viola. Brahms already discovered this in his songs Op. 91. Wiebke Lehmkuhl, Andreas Willwohl, and Julius Drake revel in these and other gems of the repertoire.

With her velvety timbre, Wiebke Lehmkuhl is one of the most sought-after singers on the opera stage. "I have a naturally deep voice with a comfort zone in the alto repertoire," says the singer, whose exceptional voice in the lower register is unparalleled. Her particular passion lies in art song. Together with the exceptional violist Andreas Willwohl and the great British accompanist Julius Drake, she explores the song repertoire with viola from Brahms to Britten, performing with great expression.
